Overview

Iyuzeld Vahidï-ghli was founded durring the late 17th century in late summer of the year 1662, by Vú̄̌sh Yä̂f̄ 'Gemma Blade' Mp̪fēy Rāb Sé̄̌s vyim Fɪgseʤine. The establishment of Iyuzeld Vahidï-ghli was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Iyuzeld Vahidï-ghli's construction back out of the project. Vú̄̌sh Yä̂f̄ 'Gemma Blade' Mp̪fēy Rāb Sé̄̌s vyim Fɪgseʤine pushed on reguardles, and Iyuzeld Vahidï-ghli was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Iyuzeld Vahidï-ghli was built using the conventions of Gnollish durring the late 17th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Iyuzeld Vahidï-ghli is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Iyuzeld Vahidï-ghli is buildings are arranged arround a network of premissive paverstone streets which form a diamond shaped grid, where each diamond verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller diamond has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town emploies a series of defencive earthworks and fences to provide minimal protection against wild beasts and smaller groups of intelegent foes. The town's somewhat suffishent have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the town.

Iyuzeld Vahidï-ghli seems to be abandoned at first. There are people present, working their trades and going about their business like any community, it’s just they are absurdly quiet. Just as you start to think there might be trouble, you see most of them are reading. The entire town feels like a library, with those not reading remaining quite to not disturb those who have their nose in a book. The longer you remain in Iyuzeld Vahidï-ghli the more you start to wonder if you’ve entered some strange open-concept University rather than a town, but you can’t quite say such with certainty.

Cultural Notes

Iyuzeld Vahidï-ghli's locals are divided into several castes. They may be organized by social role, by imputed nobility of birth, by ethnic origins, or any other dividing principle, but they cannot imagine any other way of organizing themselves. A hierarchy of castes is not inevitable, but there will be social and legal limits applied to ensure that each caste remains fixed in its function. The outside world may or may not respect these distinctions when dealing with the locals.

Iyuzeld Vahidï-ghli's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for its functional shapes, abstract shapes used sparingly for decor, simple color schemes, holistic design, and basic industrial materials. Its simple designs were created to be beautiful, functional, and mass-producible. The style used little to no embellishment or ornamentation, instead drawing attention to the streamlined design, such as flat roofs to create a simple, geometric look. The simplicity masks the style's nearly sinister functionality, as every last feature is designed to guide the people living in the building in how to make the most efficient use of the structure.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century the Ir-kobtek Fields was struck by a drought when Loch Trouttrap grew too small to continue feeding Waterway Foaming, which reduced the available water supply nationwide, but was especially harsh in the area arround Iyuzeld Vahidï-ghli. As the neighboring regions had no water so spare, Iyuzeld Vahidï-ghli lost 228 people, and 383 livestock in the disaster.. The drought lasted for 4 weeks, which are remembered as the Mourning Thirst.
